Salary payment ISO 20022 | UTF-8

Task #10901 | 5058.000

The payment files of the payroll runs are created using the ISO 20022 standard. SwissSalary follows the specifications of SIX (operator of the infrastructure for the Swiss financial center). The XML file created for the financial institutions is created in the so-called "UTF-8-BOM" encoding. Through individual customer feedback, we have now learned that some banks only accept "UTF-8" instead of "UTF-8-BOM".

Accordingly, we have now created the possibility in the setup of the bank account master data that the XML file can be created as "UTF-8". The default is still "UTF-8-BOM" and we recommend that you do not change this value. Please only change to "UTF-8" if your payment file is rejected by the bank. If you have multiple clients or banks, this must be adjusted accordingly for all of them individually.

We have tested numerous ISO files in the new format. Please note, however, that with over 200 banks in Switzerland, this cannot be conclusively assessed. If necessary, contact SwissSalary support at an early stage.
